At Camp Canada, we place participants according to their skills, experience and preferences on an individual basis. Camp Directors are looking for staff to fulfill their staffing needs, and the process is based on an individual interview basis. We cannot place couples and friends together.
It's also trickier to meet both of your preferences at the camps we work with throughout Canada. If you both applied to the program, there would be no guarantee you'd be placed together, so it is important to ensure you would feel comfortable being placed separately.
Friends who participate in the program often choose to meet up after camp and travel together, so this is something to keep in mind. Our advice would be to keep an open mind about being hired at different camps. The reality of camp is that you'll be working long hours with few breaks, mixing with new staff, and sometimes with children who are challenging.
