Help! I can't get to the pool right now

Even if you are not able to get in the pool and practice, you should try early morning jogging and short burst sprinting. If you have space around your home or garden you should also set up some bodyweight circuit training.

Obviously, the most ideal training for a lifeguard certification would be to get in the water, but these exercises can help with your endurance as well as your lung capacity - both of which are essential for your lifeguard training.
